Torquay, Here I Come

I've been called in at short notice to help at the TES Teaching Exhibition in Torquay at the end of this week. I hadn't planned on doing it, because we only realised we'd be doing it last week, and I would've prefered a little more notice... but my manager wife's been very ill of late, recovering from breast cancer, and this past weekend has been awful for her - so I'm taking his place. Not good.

As if to try and burst an otherwise uncomfortable melancholic bubble, here's the hotel we're staying at. Ian and myself are in the Queen-size rooms, which are lovely and frilly, and include such delights as an iron and ironingboard.

I'm quite excited, having never been to a hotel before... I know, at my age and everything.

We realised our stand at this exhibition is twice the size we can fill, so tomorrow we're heading to Ikea to find some cheap furniture and ornaments to fill the remaining space. Trauma!
