Marilyn Manson

Whilst waiting for Windows XP Service Pack 2 to install - which is a little like waiting for a rhino to hurry up and change a tyre - I decided to post this.

The names of all the members of Marilyn Manson's band were originally made up of the first name of a female sex symbol and the surname of a murderer. Two obvious exceptions - Tim Skold and John 5 - got around this rule by joining from other bands. There was a member some years back called Zim Zum who they claimed derived his name from Kabbalah; apparently some Internet fans managed to find a 40s pin-up called Zim Kramer and a 70s murderer called Raymond Zum, but Googling for these throws up nothing but websites saying that there was a 40s pin-up and a 70s murderer - nothing of substance, so I suspect this is imagination.

Anyhow, I decided to throw together some quality British alternatives for a carnival goth-rock band, probably from Taunton or somewhere. Disclaimer for the sensitive: this is in bad taste, and rather than email and complain, just look away.

Kylie Shipman (Kylie Minogue and Harold Shipman - I know she's Australian but there's enough council-estate Kylies by now).
Jordan West (Jordan - no, really - and Fred/Rose West).
Dame Vera Crippen (One for the oldies - Dame Vera Lynn and Dr Hawley Crippen).
Naomi Lucan ('super' 'model' Naomi Campbell and Lord Lucan).
Kate Brady (Kate Moss, Ian Brady).
Helena Hindley (Helena Christensen, Myra Hindley).
